Renoir

Pierre-Auguste Renoir, born in 1841 in Limoges, France, was a leading Impressionist painter known for his vibrant light and sensuous color. A key figure in the Impressionist movement, he captured intimate scenes of Parisian life, portraits, and landscapes with remarkable warmth and luminosity. Despite developing severe rheumatoid arthritis later in life, which deformed his hands, Renoir continued painting by having brushes strapped to his arms. He was known for his beautiful depictions of women, children, and joyful social scenes. Renoir died in 1919, leaving a profound impact on modern art.
